Description:
This ad has a subliminal message. It uses a visual persuasion technique that draws you in without a clear call to action. The visual effects of the before and after draw you in, and makes you want to contact Weight Watchers for results. It assumes you know what Weight Watchers is and does. I really liked it as it was personal, and made me want to sign up!

This ad is very vague. I don't know who these people are, but everyone probably knows who/what Weight Watchers is. But the viewer is left to connect the dots between what these people look like, and WW getting them there. It is nice that they show two completely different body types, and the commercial seems to consider both acceptable.

It's Jennifer Hudson before and after WW, for people who can't tell...

Weight Watchers ads are inherently misleading because most people are regaining weight within 2 years of their initial weight loss. There is no research that shows long term maintenance of weight loss in any group of people. It is likely that Ms. Hudson's weight loss is not typical and this should be conveyed in the ad.
